CD Typographic Art

An upcoming  label asked me to design their Cd print for an upcoming RnB Artist.

I was given the song “Toy Box” to listen too and came up with the idea to present a rather sexual nature in a fun typographic imagery.

Marie Antoinette Spreads

For my Self-authored brief, I came up with the idea to create a Journal of Marie Antoinette, which reflects on a emotive contemporary nature.

I decided to use pencil drawings, while editing a digital flair to the design through Art Nouveau Pattern, mixing it with watercolour background. This mixed media approach, should appeal a rather younger audience and create a modern feel to the journal.

I created 4 spreads:

Self Promotion

In the Professional Practice Modul, students were asked to create a personal promotion, which will enable us to secure a work placement.

For my Self Promotion strategy, I decided to design a passport that should advertise me as a German. The inside informs about my skills and gives the chance to have a look at my blog. I tried to engage the user in an unusual way by playing around with the clichés of a German:

  • Germans are obsessed with punctuality
  • Germans like Brass Music
  • Where is my Sauerkraut and Bratwurst ?
  • Germans wear Lederhosen

In the end of the peace, it will refer to “Never judge a passport by its content”, while here I want to underline the fact, that not everything read is necessarily true. This promotional idea focuses to become a work placement in either a publishing or advertising industry.

French Revolution Kid’s Book

Task was to create an emotive book, reflecting on a chosen Event.

While creating digital illustration for the Information Design, I’ve decided to make use of them in my kid’s book. I added watercolour and crinkled texture to the background to make it more dynamic looking. Each of the short stories are shown on the right hand side written in SchoolScriptDashed to make it more educational looking.

Brand Opus – Plum Redesign

Task was it to create a rebranding of the Baby Plum package, which gives the brand more confidence and simplification  (2 days).

Redesign:

Working in a group we came up with a friendly, traditional, qualitative outlook of the Package. Drawn away from the rather photographic imagery, we decided to create a rather hand drawn feel to the package, which underlines the organic, healthy nature of the product. The stamp reflects on the trustworthiness of the brand, while the logo is much more simplified and keeps the personal and family orientated character of the original logo.

After the presentation in front of Brand Opus directly, it was suggested that the layout should be more efficient to its old outlook. The product name should have more emphasize in the whole picture, while the fruit could be set up in a unique way to make the brand stand out more from its competitioners. For example it could hang from a tree above the logo. The watercolour kept illustration opened up a new style, which Plum could identify itself with and be more recognizable. The new logo found positive reaction and built up on the existing logo, here it should integrate more with the ingredients itself.
